User Specified Size Limit

tarlimit will create tar archives that do not exceed a user specified size limit. The size can be specified in megabytes or gigabytes.

Compression Methods

tarlimit can create tar archives that are compressed with bzip, gzip, or without compression (.tar, .tar.bz2, .tar.gz).

Limit Space Capability

tarlimit can pause after each archive is finished so the user can move the archive and free up more space, if the user desires.
